Celebrate Cannabis Majority with 4/20 Events Nationwide

This week marks one of the most important dates in the Cannabis industry, 4-20, happening today. Originally named after the police reference "420" indicating catching someone with cannabis, it soon became the date to protest its illegality. 2017 marks the first year that cannabis has reached critical mass, i. e., is now legal in 28 states, representing a majority. Here is a list of the top events nation-wide to celebrate this milestone year. Even so, the cannabis movement still wants to hold its hard-fought ground. So this year’s 4/20 events are a mix of rallies, celebrations and protests.

1) Only the 2nd annual event, Washington DC is showing its support for national legalization with its National Cannabis Festival, on April 22nd. The National Cannabis Festival (NCF) isn’t your average cannabis event – or non-cannabis event for that matter. Founded by a woman and produced by a group of women in Washington, D.C., NCF is the “rock the vote” event for the cannabis community.

2) Washington DC is also secretly celebrating its very ambiguous state of legality with secret private parties galore. Here's a short list of events.

3) The 420 Rally seeks to carry on the tradition set by Governor Pothead Ken Gorman. If you include the early years when he began what is now the largest gathering and most prolific gathering of smokers in the world, the Denver 420 Rally has been leading the march for cannabis freedom for over 20 years.

3) Colorado Cannabis Week - April 19-23, 2017 - Join the first state in the country to legalize cannabis, and look at the result--fastest growing economy, lowest unemployment. And one of the best states in general to live in! CCW includes world famous cannabis tours, Puff Pass & Paint classes, The Munchie Crawl, cooking classes, infused dinners and much more.

4) 420Fest is a membership party hosted by Seattle Hempfest, the world's largest cannabis festival. Lasting from 3 PM to 10 PM, this party is for anyone hoping to support cannabis and become a Hempfest member.

5) Leafly Comedy Tour - With Leafly's headquarters in Seattle, it only makes sense for them to host a Comedy Tour! The show kicks off at 9 pm at the Neptune Theatre. Tickets are a mere $4.20 if you pay in advance . . .

6) Northwest 420 Fest - is a premium 21+ Cannabis friendly music festival on the edge of The Columbia River Gorge, outside of The Dalles Oregon, in a small ghost town area called Friend. Art-Music-Industry Education-Camping-Cannabis related Booths-Glass Blowers-Fire Dancers, and over 25 Bands and DJ's. The festival goes from April 20-22-2017.
