BitGold is in Europe this weekend

The BitGold Town Hall Tour is coming to Stockholm, Copenhagen and Prague this coming weekend and would love to meet current BitGold customers. To show appreciation for early adoption of the BitGold platform, BitGold is inviting current customers to two upcoming Town Hall events, held exclusively for BitGold users. Be sure to sign up for BitGold to be able to participate in these important events. The BitGold executive team will be present to bring you up to date with their exciting new developments. Guests will have the chance to take home a BitGold T-Shirt and see the 10g BitGold Gold Cube™ in person. See below for specific dates and times of town hall events.

Here's a bit more on the background of the two founders. Roy Sebag and Josh Crumb:

According to an interview with The Northern Miner, "The 29-year-old [Roy Sebag] started his career as a distressed-equity investor who looks for value in companies who have experienced black swan events that are not as rare as everyone else thinks. Sebag started investing when he was 15 years old and launched his first fund at the age of 18. “I’ve been working for a long time,” he jokes in an interview. “That’s why I have a lot of grey hair.”

Sebag went on to form Essentia Equity, an investment partnership that generated average annual returns above 30% for the periods 2004-2010. He accurately predicted the housing bubble in mid-July 2007, saying that the recovery would be long and painful.

In 2010, Sebag formed Natural Resource Holdings to focus on gold and finite natural resources as the cornerstones of his investments. He believes that our current fiat money system leads to unnecessary financial bubbles, and defers savings. "With gold you only need to produce it once, and you can keep using it over and over again with little cost to maintain — it’s the original “scalable” technology", Sebag said in an interview with The Northern Miner.

He went on to say, "With this framework, I realized that gold wasn’t an investment, it was a currency for savings and a global economic measurement. If you were born anywhere other than in North America, it is clear that gold has been a superior currency, and that people are punished simply for being born elsewhere.

In 2011, Roy Sebag met Josh Crumb, a serial entrepreneur with a background in early stage global businesses, previously co-founder of Intellectual Ventures-backed Coffee Flour. Josh developed a marginal cost model for gold with his background in physics and mineral economics. This combined with Sebag's background gold commodity investments eventually led to what is now BitGold. They found a legal framework in Canada, revolving around bailment law, i. e., where physical possession of personal property, is transferred from one person (the 'bailor') to another person (the 'bailee'). In other words, BitGold temporarily possesses gold for its customers, acting on their behalf, like a valet service. You give a valet your car, the valet gives you a ticket and that’s proof of the legal relationship.

Josh was previously the Senior Metals Strategist at Goldman Sachs in London, holding a Master of Science degree in Mineral Economics & Quantitative Business Methods, a Graduate Certificate in International Political Economy, and Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.

Together they established BitGold on Aug. 14, 2014, creating a disruptive innovation for treating gold as both a currency and an investment. Don't miss this exciting event to hear both of these owners speak!
